What is a powder room and what is it's function?

Is it like a little bathroom? So some houses will have a main bathroom and then a powder room? Please tell me more about this lol, best answer gets my 10 points. Thanks. What is a powder room and what is it's function?
A powder room is much like a bathroom but does not contain a bath or shower. It usually contains just a toilet and sink.

I believe that the name refers to what it was used for originally, powdering noses. [Fixing up make-up]

Mostly, guests use the powder room because it doesn't have a bath or shower.

Not all houses have powder rooms, most have regular bathrooms with baths and showers. However, some have a seperate room for the toilet and the sink, shower and bath in another.

Hope i helped! What is a powder room and what is it's function?
A powder room is a room that has only a toilet and a sink. It's also known as a half bath, and is in a more accessible area of the house for guests' use. The main bathrooms are usually in the area of the bedrooms, and are more for the use of the occupants of the house. Of course, some houses only have one bathroom, which is used by all. It will have a shower stall (3/4 bath) or a shower tub combo (full bath). Hope this helps.
Well, there's no bath in a powder room, so it wouldn't make sense to call it a bathroom. But it's for ';going to the bathroom'; in the way that most people mean it.

I think ';powder'; might be a euphamism for another word that starts with p. As in ';I'm going to go take a powder';.

And most people would much rather have a ';powder room'; than a ';poop room';.
You can't take a bath in a power room.
