How many grams of anhydrous sodium carbonate powder is to be taken in how many ml of H2O to prepare 1N Na2CO3?

Normality = Molarity x n

n = 2 ( corresponding to the two Na+ ions)

M = N / n = 1 / 2 = 0.5 =%26gt; 0.5 moles / 1L of solution

Molar mass = 106 g/mol

0.5 mol x 106 g/mol = 53 g

we take 53 g of the salt and we add enought water to reach the volume of 1 L
