Powder or normal setting on a Snowboard in Lake Tahoe?

I live in New England, and I snowboard over here. I hear that in the west, runs are more powdery, and that I should maybe move my bindings back one setting to fly through this powder. Anyone have any suggestions, or whether that's right or not?Powder or normal setting on a Snowboard in Lake Tahoe?
I'm from Colorado and it's really all about what you are comfortable with. Take a run and see how it feels, it would be a shame to mess with your configuration before you see if the powder is high that day. Just lean back and enjoy the ride if you've never ridden the powder out west you are in for a treat.
