you can't honI dont have garlic, i only have garlic powder...how to make the roasted taste?
Stop. Don't use garlic powder in place of roasted garlic.

When garlic bulbs are roasted, they become almost sweet. Garlic power cannot imitate that taste.

You might get something similar if you slice a regular cooking onion and saute the slices until it's caramelized, light brown and slightly sweet. It's the same process, undoubtedly converting something to sugars.
I don't think that you'll be able to replicate a roasted flavour in the garlic powder. It shouldn't make a big difference in the taste.. roasting just gives the garlic a subtle sweet flavour.
My book says substitute 1/8 tsp of garlic powder for 1 clove.
Maybe onion?
