What does whey do anyways to increase muscle mass and strength?I'm 14 and I do a pretty rigourios workout each day- How would Whey powder help to increase the results?
Whey is the protein with the highest biological value (it is the best absored into the body and also the fastest type). Taking whey (half a serving) before a workout, allows your body to partially repair itselt between sets, this means that you can workout harder and get more out of less time.


By taking a full serving of whey protein after a session, it helps prevent muscle sorreness and encourages growth because muscles are made of proteins and water. When you take your shake after a workout, have something that contains simple carbs (sugary) in small amounts, i have 5 jelly babies, this is because the sugar will send all of that protein around your body in no time, restore the energy in the muscle called glycogen (which runs out during a workout, which is why you feel tired) and also something that contains slow digesting carbs like wholemeal toast. Make sure that when you are trying to build muscle, that you drink plenty of water, this is because your body is made up of mostly water, and if you drink none, your muscles will not grow. So (similarly to a plant) water them to grow!


Make sure that you keep your workouts under 1 hr (about 40 mins) because this is how long it takes for your energy in the muscle to be used up, without this energy, the muscle eats itself (becoming smaller) in otder to get the energy.

it doesn't increase anything, it just repairs your muscle faster allowing for more rigioruos work outs.
You're 14! Enjoy life! Why are you so into working out? You are fine the way you are until you reach an age where your body can handle that much stress and until you can educate yourself more about getting developing muscles. The girls will come.....
Whey is an excellent protein for the body. When working out, it will help build muscle and break down fat.
Whey is protein, and protein repairs your body, nothing more, nothing less.
my husband and i use whey protein. It help me work out longer and i don;t get as sore.u need protein if u are working out that hard.it helps protect your muscle from tearing down when your working them hard.
