Whats the difference between baking soda and baking powder?

what do they do in recipes?? thanksWhats the difference between baking soda and baking powder?
Baking soda needs moisture and acids to react. If you don't have an acid (i.e. chocolate, honey, citrus, etc.) it will turn your product green :(

Baking Powder needs only moisture and heat to react.

But can give yout item a metallic taste if you use too much.

You cannot subsitute one for the other.

They are leveners in the recipe.

Hope this helped :)Whats the difference between baking soda and baking powder?
They are both leavening agents and react with different ingredients in the recipe. They are NOT interchangeable, as they react differently to different ingredients
