If you grind to heads of matches into a powder, would you be able to use that powder for gunpowder?

I was told that this would work, but I wasn't sure.If you grind to heads of matches into a powder, would you be able to use that powder for gunpowder?
No. It could possibly be used as a propellant, but not a very good one and is far from gun powder.

Please remember gun powder if relatively safe unless ignited by a spark or heat source. Matches are designed to light when scraped, thus any grinding of match heads could possibly light the whole works. If you grind to heads of matches into a powder, would you be able to use that powder for gunpowder?
It would make a better fuse making material than explosive.Put it in a soda straw and seal the end with hot glue at each end.You now have a water proof fuse.Matches have a slow burn and do not create a lot of over pressure force.

Get you some Estes rocket motors and peel off the outer card board case to expose the propellant. The larger darker area is the actual rocket propellant and the smaller lighter colored material is a low charge to blow out the parachute.Carefully separate the two sections and crush them into power. The lighter colored section can be used for smoke bombs or fuses also.
