I am making a recipe that calls for 1/2 cup of chocolate bits. Unfortunately, I only have 1/3 cup of chocolate bits... But I do have unsweetened cocoa powder. What are ';chocolate bits';? Are they unsweetened or semi-sweet?
You can substitute cocoa for unsweetened chocolate, but you should add some oil. You really shouldn't substitute it for semi-sweet.
And will these 'chocolate bits' be melted? If not, then just go with your 1/3 cup.
